If you are considering to buy a new mat, I highly recommend a PVC and phthalate free yoga mat. The toxicity of these chemicals is linked to endocrine disruption. Fertility problems and development of newborns are at the center of the main concerns related to exposure to phthalates.

Did you notice the persistent smell of a “full chemical” mat? You can click on the link below to have an overview of an non-toxic yoga mat that I appreciate and use everyday. Yes, the price might seems a bit high but it’s an investment. It will last forever and will improve your practice, nothing less!
